Back to square one? Washington now says ‘no timeline’ for regime change in Venezuela (VIDEO)
Published time: 9 Mar, 2019 09:22 Edited time: 10 Mar, 2019 09:39
After weeks of insinuating that Nicolas Maduro’s ouster was imminent, Washington now insists that there’s “no timeline” for regime change in Venezuela. RT looks at how the US’ best laid plans haven’t panned out.
When Vice President Mike Pence released a video statement in January pledging full US support for Juan Guaido’s claim to the Venezuelan presidency, many assumed that an operation to install the opposition leader in Caracas was just around the corner. But more than a month later, and with Maduro still firmly in power, Washington seems to be out of ideas: Not only has the US failed to deliver its “humanitarian aid” to Venezuela, but Washington’s allies have unanimously ruled out military action.

Presstitutes Turn Blind Eye to UN Report on Venezuela
Washington and the Convict Appointed to Overthrow Venezuela Continue the Lies
By Paul Craig Roberts
March 10, 2019 “Information Clearing House” –
Don’t you think something is fishy when the presstitutes orchestrate a fake news “humanitarian crisis” in Venezuela, but totally ignore the real humanitarian crises in Yemen and Gaza?
Don’t you think something is really very rotten when the expert, Alfred Maurice de Zayas, sent by the UN to Venezuela to evaluate the situation finds no interest by any Western media or any Western government in his report?
Don’t you think it is a bit much for Washington to steal $21 billion of Venezuela’s money, impose sanctions in an effort to destabilize the country and to drive the Venezuelan government to its knees, blame Venezuelan socialism (essentially nationalization of the oil company) for bringing “starvation to the people,” and offer a measly $21 million in “humanitarian aid.”

As Venezuela’s nationwide crippling power outage goes into days, rather than hours, the suspicion grows that the South American country has been hit with a mass attack by the United States.
When US President Donald Trump and other senior White House officials earlier bragged that “all options are on the table” for Washington’s regime change objective in Venezuela, it has to be assumed now that one of those options included a devastating cyber sabotage of the country’s power infrastructure.
For its part, the government of President Nicolas Maduro is convinced that the US is waging an “electrical war” and is behind the latest power outages. Washington and its anointed Venezuelan opposition figure Juan Guaido claim that the disruption is the result of “incompetent management” of the country by Maduro’s socialist government.
Venezuela’s 31 million population is reportedly used to the inconvenience of frequent power cuts. The country’s economic turmoil over recent years due to declining revenues for its oil exports as well as — perhaps the main factor — US sanctions, has hampered normal administration, thus leading to recurring power outages and other consumer shortages.
However, the scale of the latest blackouts indicate an unprecedented damage to the country’s power infrastructure.
In parallel with the continuing large-scale disruption of the Venezuelan electricity industry, supporters of the current government and the opposition of the country hold numerous rallies. According to local observers, the political crisis in the Bolivarian Republic has all the signs of a protracted social conflict. The question is whether the scale of social conflict will remain manageable, and whether the authorities, led by Maduro, will continue to maintain the support of the majority of the citizens, which he presently enjoys.
That the recent acts of terrorism and/or sabotage of Venezuela’s electric grid were viewed as acts of foreign aggression, this has galvanized the public and apparently pushed undecided sections of the populace over to the pro-government side. This is according to FRN’s sources on the ground. The underlying dynamic revealed by these sources was previously demonstrated in the case of Syria. Although on a tremendously greater scale, once the violence in Syria was demonstrably foreign or foreign instigated in nature, Syrians increasingly rallied behind their present-existing civilian government, which was viewed as a guarantor of stability.
Likewise, the authorities, led by President Nicholas Maduro, linked their actions with the struggle of the Venezuelan people against “American imperialism”, led by the United States.
Meanwhile, as sources of the Atlanticist, Pro-American Associated Press agency in the South American country note, large-scale power outages “increased tensions between groups within the Venezuelan government itself, who accused each other of being responsible for the collapse of the power grid.”

Volgens Jim Stone is de VS met Stuxnet de oorzaak van de black out:

Here is the key to what happened in Venezuela:
Someone from either American or Israeli DOD got into the PLC controllers on the twelve gigawatt hydroelectric Guri dam. They attacked the systems that regulated water flow through the valves on the dam that send the water to the turbines. This is precisely the type of attack Stuxnet is supposed to be made for. They opened the valves all the way. They (or whatever virus they planted, probably Stuxnet) then told the engineers, via the readouts, that the water flows and turbine speeds were normal. With an enormous amount of pressure from the dam, the turbines managed to push ahead of phase on the rest of Venezuela’s grid, got into an enormous tug-of-war with power stations elsewhere (after viruses also turned the protection off) and blew everything up, tripping a nationwide blackout with long term severe damage.
We just got to see what Stuxnet could do to the world’s third largest power plant. Several Venezuelans managed to tweet out that the turbines at Guri went over frequency, those tweets have now been expunged. Only willful sabotage could have done that.
It is virtually assured America did this, to a point where there is no plausible deniability especially after Pompeo’s tweet, see the main report in the window below.
Most likely, trolls are going to say Venezuela’s grid was crap. That’s a lie, I looked into this, and it was in fact among the most modern grids in the world, RIPE for virus attacks, Guri is predominantly a 2010 dated facility after upgrades, that was initially put online in the late 80’s (which by itself would not be old by power generating standards). There’s nothing of significance in the U.S. that new and that updated. The stories about Venezuela having crap are bold faced lies fronted for propaganda.

The fugitive impostor and false president Guaido returned to Venezuela. The official cause for his absence is a foreign tour. Guaido left the country despite the ban by the Supreme Court. Many people now expected that the court would arrest him. However, it didn’t happen in order to preserve peace in the country and not to give a reason for a foreign invasion.

RT America’s Sara Montes de Oca joins Rick Sanchez to discuss the massive blackout afflicting Venezuela. President Nicolas Maduro blamed the US and condemned the “macabre strategy,” but US officials deny responsibility. They blame chronic neglect to Venezuela’s power systems and are twisting the crisis into a political win. Then investigative journalist Lucas Koerner joins to discuss the blackout as well as recent retractions from CNN and New York Times regarding a torched USAID truck at the Venezuela-Colombia border. Despite western rhetoric, Lucas Koerner shares what Venezuelans are experiencing first-hand on the ground, as calmness prevails in spite of scarce reports of looting in Caracas.

RT America’s Rachel Blevins has the details for News.Views. Hughes. Then RT America’s Sara Montes de Oca reports on Tarek William Saab’s investigation into opposition leader Juan Guaido over suspicions that he was involved in the power grid attack that the Maduro government says is behind the blackout. Finally, journalist Lucas Koerner joins Scottie Nell Hughes live from Venezuela to report the latest on the blackout. The government says that the return of running water in Caracas is imminent but much remains to be done to restore electricity and water throughout the country. Koerner reports that despite US allegations, looting has been mostly sporadic and isolated while calm and displays of solidarity prevail.

Venezuelans Growing Desperate as Blackout Hits Country

THE RUNDOWN | With a blackout striking and an economic crisis ongoing, Venezuelans are becoming more and more desperate, going as far as to collect water from a contaminated river in the capital to survive. Venezuela-based journalist Juan Lamas discusses with hosts Calev Ben-David and Nurit Ben.
Story:
The US special envoy on the crisis in Venezuela said Tuesday that Washington would soon impose ‘very significant additional sanctions’ on financial institutions doing business with President Nicolas Maduro’s government.
Elliott Abrams also told reporters that “additional visa revocations” targeting Venezuelan officials would be issued.
The new measures will be announced ‘very soon’, possibly as early as Tuesday, he said.
The United States, which has moved to pull all of its remaining staff from the country, has already imposed sanctions designed to choke off Venezuelan oil sales, the lifeblood of the leftist government in Caracas.
It has targeted a growing list of individuals and companies linked to the Maduro government, including state oil company PDVSA.
Washington is one of more than 50 countries to have recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as acting president of the country, and is backing his efforts to push Maduro from power.
Venezuela’s state prosecutor, Tarek William Saab, told reporters he would place Guaido under investigation for ‘his alleged involvement in the sabotage of the Venezuelan electricity system,’ which has been hit by a devastating multi-day blackout.
‘It’s a threat against interim president Guaido,’ said Abrams in response, adding: ‘That report is a real concern’.
