Voor de moord op Gaddafi noemde men het een revolutie, een opstand tegen een dictator, of zelfs een vrijheidsstrijd. Nu Libië zogenaamd geregeerd wordt door de nationale overgangsraad NTC, noemt men het een burgeroorlog. De waarheid is dat de NTC geen enkele macht heeft in Libië. De macht is in handen van de Westerse corporaties en de NATO, die met grof geweld een einde hebben gemaakt aan de democratische Jamahiriya. In Benghazi, waar de “opstand tegen Gaddafi” begon, hebben demonstranten nu het NTC-regeringsgebouw bestormd. En Bani Walid, een stad waar de bevolking en het Libische leger zich tot het laatste moment hebben verzet tegen de CIA-Al Qaida rebellen van de NATO, lijkt weer bevrijd van de NATO-NTC. Nu noemt men het een burgeroorlog, maar het is verzet tegen de buitenlandse bezetters en hun collaborateurs! Die strijd is nog lang niet voorbij!
Franklin Lamb bevindt zich weer in Tripoli. Hij schreef op 15 januari:

There is clear and growing pro-Gadhafi political and military activity here and it is why NTC leader Mustapha Abdul Jalil, the other day warned against the Gadhafi children raising an insurrection. Aisha Gadhafi, given Saif’s current incarceration, is perhaps the likely leader, given her intelligence, energy and strong commitment to replace “NATO’s rebels”, vindicate her father, preserve his correct legacy, and organize a reform movement along the lines that she and some family members and loyalists were working–with the approval, she claims, of her father before his death.
Every night more pro-Gadhafi graffiti appears on street walls, buildings and around Green (Martyrs) Square. Activists, and there appear to be more every day, assert that so far the NTC has not attacked them and they feel fairly free to speak out and even organize. It is anyone’s guess how long this situation will exist before a violent crackdown and open fighting.
Dat heeft dus nog geen week geduurd! Het resultaat is wel dat er opeens weer nieuws uit Libië verschijnt, maar we gaan eerst even naar de hopeloze achtergrond van deze zogenaamde strijd van de VS en de NATO tegen het “terrorisme”. Het gaat om een interview van RT met een voormalige CIA officier, Michael Scheuer, uit november vorig jaar. Ook de situatie in Libië komt aan de orde.

De westerse “vrijheid en democratie” viert hoogtij in Libië, maar Aisha Gaddafi heeft aangifte gedaan van de moord op haar vader en haar broer Mutassin. Zij is samen met haar moeder en twee van haar broers gevlucht naar Algerije, waar ze diplomatieke bescherming heeft gekregen. Het Internationale Strafhof in Den Haag maakt echter volstrekt geen haast met het onderzoek naar de openlijke moord op haar vader, terwijl de YouTubes van deze oorlogsmisdaad overal op Internet rondslingeren!

A report released last week by Middle East human rights groups presents extensive evidence of war crimes carried out in Libya by the United States, NATO and their proxy “rebel” forces during last year’s war, which brought down the regime of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. The “Report of the Independent Civil Society Fact-Finding Mission to Libya” presents findings of an investigation carried out last November by the Arab Organization for Human Rights, together with the Palestinian Center for Human Rights and the International Legal Assistance Consortium.
Based on interviews with victims of war crimes as well as with witnesses and Libyan officials in Tripoli, Zawiya, Sibrata, Khoms, Zliten, Misrata, Tawergha and Sirte, the report calls for the investigation of evidence that NATO targeted civilian sites, causing many deaths and injuries. Civilian facilities targeted by NATO bombs and missiles included schools, government buildings, at least one food warehouse, and private homes.
The report also presents evidence of systematic murder, torture, expulsion and abuse of suspected Gaddafi loyalists by the NATO-backed “rebel” forces of the National Transitional Council (NTC). It describes the forced expulsion of the mostly black-skinned inhabitants of Tawergha and the ongoing persecution of sub-Saharan migrant workers by forces allied to the NTC and its transitional government.
The investigators report savage and repeated beatings of prisoners held without trial or charges, the summary execution of pro-Gaddafi fighters, and witness reports of “indiscriminate and retaliatory murders, including the ‘slaughter’ (i.e., throat slitting) of former combatants.”
The war devastated the country. The NTC—an unstable coalition of ex-Gaddafi regime officials, Islamists, including some with links to Al Qaeda, and Western intelligence assets—itself estimates that the war took 50,000 lives and injured another 50,000 people. Rising infighting between the NTC’s factions is opening the door to full-scale civil war between rival clan-based and regional militias.
Just this weekend, amid warnings from NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil of looming civil war, a crowd demanding the resignation of the transitional government forced its way into the NTC’s headquarters in Benghazi. Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, the vice president of the NTC, promptly resigned.

Libya suspends transitional government members
BENGHAZI, Libya — The head of Libya’s transitional government on Sunday suspended delegates from Benghazi, the city that kicked off the movement that toppled ruler Moammar Gadhafi last year.
The suspension the latest sign of discord within the body that led the anti-Gadhafi uprising but has struggled to establish an effective government to replace his regime.
The move follows protests in Benghazi accusing the body of corruption and not moving fast enough on reform. It was prompted by street protests and rejected by the delegates.
The announcement came the day after protesters stormed the National Transitional Council offices in Benghazi and carted off computers, chairs and desks while Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, head of the NTC, was holed up inside.
