Aleppo’s War Battlefield Update, Syria: Russian TV report from December 14th 2016
Russia Insider

At least 900 fighters were eliminated by the Syria army during the operation, dozens of the heavy weapons and military equipment was destroyed,” the Russian General Staff said in a statement.

The general stressed that the Russian combat planes have not carried out missions around Aleppo since October 18. Militants in Aleppo ‘Make a Fortune’ Selling Humanitarian Aid to Locals. Over 3,000 militants have voluntarily left the Syrian city of Aleppo, about half of them have been pardoned, Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, the first deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the Russian General Staff, said Thursday.

Poznikhir also said that over 108,000 civilians, including more than 47,000 children, had been taken to safe areas of Aleppo via humanitarian corridors.

“Overall, 108,076 civilians, including 47,183 children, were taken via the organized humanitarian corridors to safe city areas,” he said.

IRAN!!!

Humanitarian action in Aleppo conflict highly politicized – Red Cross regional director

The pullout of more than 5,000 militants and their families through a humanitarian corridor is under way in eastern Aleppo. Wounded rebels are evacuated by the Russian Reconciliation Center with International Red Cross involvement. RT discussed the evacuation operation with Robert Mardini, the Red Cross’s Regional Director for the Middle East.

Syrian heat: Watch pro & anti-US intervention journalists face off over Aleppo in RT debate

‘No 2nd opinion, no alternative’: Experts discuss Aleppo liberation and its media coverage duurt 40 minuten.

Gepubliceerd op 14 dec. 2016

Western media paint a grim picture of the Aleppo liberation, yet a lot of videos show residents celebrating it. The lights on the Eiffel Tower are out, a lot of accusations come with or without proof.
Independent researcher and journalist Vanessa Beeley; Executive director at the Ron Paul institute Daniel McAdams; Columnist for ‘The Hill’ Brent Budowsky and RT International’s Deputy Head of News Alexey Kuznetsov joined in the RT’s studio to discuss the issue.

Aleppo Starts Uncovering Washington’s Evil Designs

A few days ago new facts about Washington’s sponsorship of ISIS appeared in the Bulgarian media, along with the pictures and video made in eastern Aleppo by the Nova TV journalists. The crew stumbled upon a warehouse that was used by the Jabhat al-Nusra militants, where they discovered munitions for the BM-21 “Grad” self-propelled multiple rocket launchers, bearing visible indications that they were produced by the Bulgarian manufacturer VMZ (Vazovskaya Heavy Machinery). It’s curious that in spite of the ban on arms sales to Syria, missiles and shells of Bulgarian production, however, fell into the hands of terrorists. The Bulgarian crew indicated that the munitions were supplied by the company known as Arcus from Lyaskovets, while all labels were written in Bulgarian.

The channel has been consulting military experts ever since and the latter have already stated that the radical militants could have been fighting for another two years with the munitions they had.

In their report, BIRN and OCCRP stated that the acquisition of significant amounts of military weapons from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe for the “Syrian opposition” were directly controlled by Washington. Earlier, the respected military journal Jane’s Defence Weekly in its article “US arms shipment to Syrian rebels detailed” stated that the US supplies the “Syrian opposition” with weapons and ammunition from Eastern Europe, and noted that these facts were almost officially recognized by the US Senate.

Over the last five years, Ukraine alone has sold nearly 615 thousand units of small arms to Syria. But it’s curious that its officials customers are not some third world countries, but large Western companies like Hire & Fire, IZH Impex Inc, Waffen Schumacher GmbH, BVS, spol. Sro – all buying old Soviet weapons en masse. In 2012 alone the American Hire & Fire made an acquisition of 90 thousand Soviet rifles. That’s almost enough to arm four divisions! And in just one year!

While Decrying “Massacre” in Aleppo, US Steps up Bloodshed in Mosul

    By Bill Van Auken

    December 16, 2016 “Information Clearing House” – “WSWS” –

Even as columns of green buses were ferrying the last of the Western-backed Islamist “rebels” out of eastern Aleppo Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry took the podium at a State Department press conference to describe the situation in the northern Syrian city as “unconscionable” and to denounce the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad for carrying out “nothing short of a massacre.”

Kerry’s denunciations, which extended to Syria’s allies, Russia and Iran, expressed the growing anger and desperation within US ruling circles and Washington’s military and intelligence apparatus over the debacle of the five-year-old regime change operation in Syria. With the driving out of Aleppo of the Al Qaeda-linked militias that have been armed and funded by the CIA, the so-called “rebels” have lost their last foothold in a major urban area, and the prospects of these proxy forces toppling Assad have largely evaporated.

Kerry was reduced to demanding a “cessation of hostilities” in Aleppo under conditions in which a cease-fire brokered between Russia and Turkey—with no apparent prior notification of, much less participation by, Washington—appeared to be holding on Thursday as the orderly evacuation of both “rebels” and civilians proceeded.

Kerry vowed, “The fall of Aleppo, should it happen, does not end the war. It will continue.” The statement amounted to a threat, under conditions in which the Obama administration recently issued a waiver of the US Arms Export Control Act to allow the CIA to funnel in more weapons to “irregular forces” in Syria. Even with these arms, however, it is difficult to see how the “rebels” can regain the offensive.

The hypocrisy of the US denunciations of the brutal methods employed by the Syrian government and its allies in eastern Aleppo has been underscored by the unfolding of a similarly savage siege being directed by the Pentagon against the far larger urban population of Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city. As many as 1.5 million people still live in that metropolitan area, which the Iraqi army surrendered to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in June 2014.

With the US-backed offensive against Mosul now nearly two months old, conditions for the city’s residents are growing increasingly desperate, while the number of civilians killed continues to mount.

Scattered reports from media in the region provide a glimpse of the carnage unfolding in Mosul. Turkey’s Anadolu news agency reported that an entire family of nine was wiped out on Tuesday in a US drone missile strike against a house in Mosul’s al-Falah district. “Nine family members were killed in the attack,” an Iraqi police officer told the agency.

And The New Arab (Al-Araby Al-Jadeed) reported Thursday: “At least 40 civilians have been killed including women and children and dozens of others injured in air raids and artillery fire in the east of the Islamic State group [IS] bastion of Mosul,…

Press TV, IRAN: The Debate – Aleppo Liberated

    Gepubliceerd op 16 dec. 2016

Just as it begun, it seems to have been suspended. The deal that resulted in the evacuation of many militants from East Aleppo was hard won, but the Syrian Ambassador to the UN tells Press TV that the militants have gone against the deal, while also blocking the injured from leaving villages they’ve besieged in Idlib. While the one-sided media uproar disguised as concern for Aleppo’s civilians continues, the same media say nothing about the towns of Kafriya and Foua besieged by militants. Meanwhile On this edition of the debate we discuss this latest hiccup in the Aleppo evacuation.
