A Decisive Shift In The Power Balance Has Occurred — Paul Craig Roberts

The world is beginning to realize that a seachange in world affairs occured on September 28 when President Putin of Russia stated in his UN speech that Russia can no longer tolerate Washington’s vicious, stupid, and failed policies that have unleashed chaos, which is engulfing the Middle East and now Europe. Two days later, Russia took over the military situation in Syria and began the destruction of the Islamic State forces.

Putin Knows that Peace with America is Impossible

By Miroslav Lazanski

October 12, 2015 “Information Clearing House” –

The first message is that the Middle East is not an exclusive stage for Western military intervention, bringing down of the existing regime’s, installation of satellite government and installing Western style democracy. That time has come to an irretrievable end.

The second message is that the region of the Caspian Sea, except Iran, remains in the post-Soviet sphere in every respect and that the United States must comply with it. The third message is actually Putin’s gambit in chess game: he pulls conciliatory moves, while the stage for a confrontation with America is set if reconciliation fails.

Vladimir Putin directs a series of political and military measures and moves that are both loud and effective , as the crackling of launching cruise missiles , but also subtle , which is offering cooperation to the Americans in the fight against the Islamic State, but also contradictory at first glance , as with the approach to Saudi Arabia . But , above all , all these moves are centralized . So for all future actions of NATO and the United States , Russia has the answer.

The United Kingdom ‘s response to Russia’s military intervention in Syria has been to send its permanent military contingent to bases in Poland and the Baltic state NATO members . Moscow immediately announced its counteraction . What will it be? Back in April 2000, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has announced an agreement with Moscow on the creation of joint armed forces of Belarus and Russia on the territory of Belarus , and this force should number about 300,000 soldiers.
Russian Power

Russia has recently announced the formation of its air base in Belarus, a month ago the Russian and Belarussian Army and Air Force’s participated in major military drill’s in Russia. In particular, the response of Moscow to further the deployment of NATO forces in the Baltic States and Poland will be at least 150,000 Russian soldiers directly on the Polish border. You simply watch.

Say Hello To My Cruise Missiles

By Pepe Escobar

October 13, 2015 “Information Clearing House” – ” Asia Times” –

The New Great Game in Eurasia advanced in leaps and bounds last week after Russia fired 26 cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea against 11 ISIS/ISIL/Daesh targets across Syria, destroying all of them. These naval strikes were the first known operational use of state-of-the-art SSN-30A Kalibr cruise missiles.

All it took for the Pentagon was a backward look over the shoulder at the flight path of those Kalibr missiles – capable of striking targets 1,500 km away. Talk about a crisp, clear, succinct message from Moscow to the Pentagon and NATO. Wanna mess with us, boy? With your big, bulging aircraft carriers, maybe?

Moreover, on top of the creation of what is a de facto no-fly zone over Syria and southern Turkey, the Russian Navy cruiser Moskva, carrying 64 S-300 ship-to-air missiles is now docked in Latakia.

The proverbial anonymous US sources could not but go on overdrive, spinning the Russians had four wayward missiles that landed in Iran. The Russian High Command ridiculed them; all missiles landed within eight feet of their targets.

The Pentagon didn’t even know the Kalibr could be fired from small ships — as Tomahawks require much larger ships.

The best the Pentagon could muster, apart from widespread apoplexy, was NORAD commander Adm. William Gortney telling the Atlantic Council Russian long-range aviation and long-range cruise missiles present a new “threat” for US strategic homeland defense.

“We’re three months now into 2015 and we are already seeing the beginnings of – not just the end of the US dollar – but the Chinese system as its replacement. And by the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter if the AIIB or CIPS or the IMF or the World Bank for that matter are in control. It’s the powers behind the curtains who remain the same. And with China’s “basic dictatorship” as Justin Trudeau likes to call it, it’s not a stretch to fathom that the elites prefer the Chinese model over the Western democratic model.”

    Gepubliceerd op 14 okt. 2015

Lavrov told Russian parliament that many UN members believe that the most serious threat to the whole international community is posed by international terrorism and extremism. Lavrov also said that ISIL terrorists are putting down their roots in Afghanistan but there are no requests from Afghan officials for Russia’s help. He said if the Afghan government asks for Moscow’s support, President Vladimir Putin will make a decision.

Putin cracks down on ‘American partners’ for their stance on Syria

    Gepubliceerd op 15 okt. 2015

Vladimir Putin stated that the US position on Syria was not constructive. He said that he could not understand “how the American partners could criticize Russia’s actions to struggle against terrorism in Syria if they refuse from a direct dialogue on important issues, such as a political settlement.”

The Russian president believes that the Americans have no agenda on the issue – they have nothing to talk about, Putin said. At the same time, Russia still leaves its doors open and hopes to negotiate with all parties to this complex process, including the American partners.”

On October 14, the US refused to accept the Russian delegation led by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev because of “the reluctance of Russia to make a constructive contribution” to the struggle against the Islamic State. White House spokesman Josh Earnest believes that Vladimir Putin is desperately trying to convince Washington to join Moscow. At the same time, Earnest noted that the US was ready to start a constructive discussion on Syria, but only if it touched upon the question of the destruction of the Islamic State.

Putin: I don’t get how US can criticize Russian op in Syria if it refuses dialogue

Washington’s decision to obstruct Russia’s call for diplomatic engagement on Syria is unconstructive and apparently shows a lack of will to negotiate, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“I don’t really understand how our American partners can criticize Russia’s counterterrorism effort in Syria while refusing direct dialogue on the all-important issue of political settlement,” Putin explained.

Putin was commenting on the refusal by the Obama administration to receive a Russian delegation headed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to discuss the differences the two nations have on the Syrian crisis. The US said it would not talk unless Russia followed Washington’s lead and stopped helping the Syrian government of President Bashar Assad.

Slechte verliezers, die Amerikaanse politici. Washington is niet langer de leider! Hun illegale oorlog tegen Assad is ten einde.

Putin is Defeating More than ISIS in Syria. “The Hypocritical Obama Administration Mask has been Blown Off”

What the successful Russian precision airstrikes have done is expose in all its ugly nakedness the Emperor’s New Clothes. For more than one year, the Obama Administration claims it has committed the most awesome airpower on the planet allegedly to destroy ISIS, which has been described as a “ragtag band of militants running around the desert in basketball shoes.”

Curiously, until last week, ISIS has only expanded its web of power in Syria and Iraq under US bombings. Now, within 72 hours, the Russian military, launching only 60 bombing runs in 72 hours, hitting more than 50 ISIS targets, has brought the ISIS combatants into what the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman described as a state of “panic” where more than 600 have deserted. And, according to Moscow, the fight is only beginning, expected, they say to last three to four months.

Peace activists should stop cheering for Russian bombs in Syria

    By David Swanson

There’s a view of Syria, common even among peace activists in the United States, that holds that because the United States has been making everything worse in Syria and the entire Middle East for years Russian bombs will make things better. While the actions of the United States and its allies will lead to victory for the Islamic State group, horror for millions of people, and chronic chaos in Syria along the lines of post-liberation Iraq and Libya, Russian bombs – this view maintains – will destroy the Islamic State group, restore order, uphold the rule of law, and establish peace.

What’s needed now, as in 2012 when the United States brushed it aside, is a peace process.

Here’s my position. Murder is not moderate. You cannot find “moderate” murderers and engage them to kill extremist murderers. You cannot bomb the extremist murderers without producing more murderers than you kill. What’s needed now, as in 2012 when the United States brushed it aside, is a peace process. First a cease-fire. Then an arms embargo. And a halt to training and providing fighters and funding by Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United States, and all other parties. Then major aid and restitution, and a negotiated settlement in which, in fact, Russia should be included as it is located in that region of the world, and the United States should not as it has no legitimate business being there.

    Gepubliceerd op 16 okt. 2015

From one fiasco to another: Washington has failed to change the regime in Syria, failed to effectively fight ISIS, and now wants Russia to fail. At the same time, Obama appears to be willing to arm any anti-regime fighter who can carry a gun. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Obama Won’t Admit The Real Targets Of Russian Airstrikes

    Dit is de kaart (pdf)

“It is no accident,” Sly reported, “that the first targets of Russian airstrikes in Syria were the locations where rebels armed with TOW missles have made the most substantial gain and where they most directly threaten Assad’s hold on power”. That is an obvious reference to the forces that took over Idlib province in March. But Sly never refers to the “Army of Conquest” victory in Idlib or acknowledges that al-Nusra Front was the main benefactor of the CIA programme.

Since the Idlib victory, it is generally understood that the primary threat to drive the Assad regime from power comes from al-Nusra Front and the forces allied with it, and not from the Islamic State – and certainly not the mythical “moderate rebels”.

It is easy to understand why the Obama administration is not interested in talking about the role of al-Nusra in the present Syrian political-military situation. According to Sly’s source, the covert operation to provide the TOW missiles to the Army of Conquest was aimed at putting “sufficient pressure on Assad’s forces to persuade him to compromise but not so much that his government would precipitously collapse and leave a dangerous power vacuum”.

Why US Fears Putin Success in Syria

    By Finian Cunningham

So Russia’s effective anti-terror operations – as opposed to the year-long ineffectual US-led so-called anti-terror coalition – are causing angst among Washington and its allies precisely because Moscow is helping to destroy Western regime-change assets. Don’t forget that billions of dollars have been “invested” by Washington, Britain, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to overthrow the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad, partly in order to undermine his allies in Russia and Iran.

Another reason for Western vexation over Russia’s intervention in Syria is that it is exposing the fraudulence and criminality of the Western powers and their regional client regimes. Russia is conducting operations that are lawful under international law with the full consent of the Syrian government – unlike the US-led coalition which is bombing the country illegally. Vladimir Putin has cogently delineated the all-important legal difference. From the Western viewpoint, this exposure of their depredations is intolerable. That is partly why Washington and its European minions are desperate to discredit Moscow in Syria. But they are failing.

    Dr. Strangelove is Naked

    By Pepe Escobar

    October 20, 2015 “Information Clearing House” – “RT” –

The whole Global South is now informed about how the Russian campaign in Syria has swiftly smashed all of ‘Exceptionalistan’s’ elaborate plans for a “Greater Middle East.”
These plans span everything from the Wolfowitz Doctrine to Dr. Zbig “Grand Chessboard” Brzezinski’s categorical imperative of preventing the emergence of a strategic competitor across Eurasia.

But the subtext is even more intriguing: The Pentagon never saw it coming. And they are absolutely terrified of the inevitable consequences.

The Russian Army Asserts its Superiority in Conventional warfare

Moscow’s military intervention in Syria has not simply overturned the fortunes of war and spread panic throughout the ranks of the jihadist groups. It has also shown the rest of the world the current capacities of the Russian army in situations of real warfare. To everyone’s astonishment, it has proved to possess a system of signal jamming capable of rendering the Atlantic Alliance deaf and blind. Despite a far superior budget, the United States have just lost their military domination.

    By Thierry Meyssan

We know, since the incident of the USS Donald Cook in the Black Sea on the 12th April 2014, that the Russian Air Force has at its disposition a weapon which enables it to jam all radars, all control circuits, all systems for the transmission of information, etc. [6]. Since the beginning of its military deployment, Russia had installed a jamming centre at Hmeymim, to the North of Latakia. Then, suddenly, the USS Donald Cook incident occurred, but this time within a perimeter of 300 kilometres – which includes the NATO base at Incirlik (Turkey). And this is still going on. Because the event happened during a sand-storm of historical proportions, the Pentagon first thought its measuring equipment had malfunctioned, but then discovered that it had been jammed. Completely.

    Putin’s Next Move

    By Paul Craig Roberts

October 20, 2015 “Information Clearing House” – Now that Russia has taught the dumbshits in Washington that Russia will no longer tolerate their aggression against Syria, it is time for the next step. Russia should withdraw all assets that it foolishly has abroad that are subject to US confiscation or freezing. Then Russia should cease servicing all debts to countries that are part of the US sanctions against Russia.

Perhaps before Russia can do this Putin needs to clear out the traitors who run the Russian central bank and serve the interests of foreign capital at the expense of Russia’s interest. Sergei Glazyev knows what needs to be done. Putin should listen to his advisor and not to the neoliberal Russian economists who comprise Washington’s main weapon against the Russian government.

Unless Russians are willing to become American vassals, they must overcome their irrational emotional need to be part of the West and cease dealing with the West with half-measures. It is Russia that is the superpower, not the bankrupt and collapsing American empire.

Russia Destroys The Greater Israel Dream

    By Taxi

    October 20, 2015 “Information Clearing House” – “Plato’s Guns” –

The grand plan was going swimmingly. The concept of endless wars for Greater Israel was working and producing impressive results. Opportunistically, through aggravation of war after war, chunk by chunk of Arab land was usurped and the map of Greater Israel was slowly materializing. No matter the unstable chaos surrounding the State of Israel for the past seven decades, and no matter the undying Palestinian resistance and the violent Intifadas that erupted internally, the Zionist dream of Greater Israel remained consistently intact and was progressing unabated and unchallenged by anyone.

But dreams, by their diaphanous nature are easily interruptible – can easily turn into sudden nightmares. Indeed, dreams do, in the blink of an eye, simply end.

    Bring Back Jimmy Carter!

    By Paul Craig Roberts

    October 27, 2015 “Information Clearing House” –

Caught with its pants down in Syria, the US government is making a fool of itself. By attempting to mischaracterize Russia’s actions against ISIS in Syria, Washington has admitted that the terrorists from outside Syria, who are attempting to overthrow the elected government of Syria, are “our guys.”

In an interview with Fox “News,” a senior US government official said: “Putin is deliberately targeting our forces. Our guys are fighting for their lives.”

Professor Michel Chossudovsky reports that “our guys” includes Western military advisers, intelligence agents and mercenaries recruited from private security companies.

In clear words, Washington in total violation of law is behaving as a war criminal and is attempting to overthrow an elected government in order to replace it with a vassal answering to Washington.

President Putin has said that Russia will not stand for any more war crimes from Washington in areas of the world that affect Russian national interests. Russia has been asked for assistance by the legitimate government of Syria against ISIS, and the Russian air strikes are exterminating ISIS. This has the Washington war criminals upset. The senior US defense official told Fox “News” that the only role for Russia in Syria is to assist the US in overthrowing Assad. I guess the Washington official didn’t hear what Putin had to say.

The question that desperately needs to be asked will never be asked by the US print and TV media or by NPR. That question is: What is the point of the incessant US government lies about Russia, its actions, and its intentions? Are the warmongers in Washington trying to start World War Three?
