Predictable Chaos: ‘Libya ungoverned & ungovernable’
Gepubliceerd op 8 okt 2012 door RussiaToday

Armed Libyan forces continue to surround the city of Bani Walid, Libya. As tension between government troops and opposition supporters continues to mount, residents have been left without food and other supplies — and are calling on the UN for help.
The siege of Bani Walid started because the National Congress wants to arrest the suspected murderers of the man credited with capturing Colonel Gaddafi.
The town failed to hand them over, but the siege is too strong a response exposing the government’s weakness, says journalist James Corbett.

‘Gaddafi regime beacon of light compared to current govt’
Gepubliceerd op 8 okt 2012 door RussiaToday

The siege of Bani Walid, Libya’s ongoing political instability, and the alleged torture of Gaddafi loyalists has left the country a far cry from the vision that western powers had when they supported last year’s NATO bombing.
Geopolitical analyst Patrick Henningsen told RT that there’s no stability in Libya compared to before the onset of last year’s NATO bombing. But now as Bani Walid asks for UN help, Henningsen says residents shouldn’t expect much in terms of assistance.

War crime? Gaddafi, son & dozens of loyalists executed by rebels

Libyan rebels executed 67 Gaddafi fighters and possibly the dictator himself a year ago – that’s according to a new report by Human Rights Watch. The loyalists of the regime were said to have been abused and murdered. The findings also imply the very same militias that toppled the Colonel still play a major role in Libyan politics. RT talks to Sabah Al-Mukhtar, president of the Arab Lawyers Association.

British Democracy: Living in Fear, Kept in the Dark

Earlier this year, I watched the BBC’s main political debate programme that allows an audience of members of the public to put questions to a panel of politicians and so-called experts. Syria was on the agenda. A member of the panel referred to the Syrian rebels as ‘freedom fighters’. Within a few minutes, all panel members and the audience were using this term to refer to the rebels. It led me to ponder why so many people were willing to accept at face value an agenda that portrayed the insurgents in such a wholly positive light.

It also led me to conclude just how easy it is to manipulate ordinary people into backing imperialist ventures abroad, which are fought on behalf of rich interests. At a time of biting austerity and attacks on workers and the welfare state, well over a billion pounds of ordinary people’s money was used to fund the illegal bombing of Libya.

    LEES VERDER

If more ordinary folk were turn their attention away from glossy sports events, premiership football, cheap knockabout BBC political debate shows or all other forms of comatosing infortainment for one minute, they might well realise that the billionaire criminal elites that take their taxes and dictate national and foreign policy are in many cases a good deal worse than any number of the regimes they seek to demonise.

    Ben,

Moussah Ibrahem : ME AND KHAMIS ARE ALIVE AND OUT OF LIBYA

Gepubliceerd op 20 okt 2012 door OljaKaramustafa

MOUSSA ON PALTALK ROOM “YAMAHIRIA” 20.10.2012
In the Name of God, the Great, and in the name of Fatah the great. Salute to all of you, freedom fighters of Libya. I am Dr. Moussa Ibrahim and I am talking to you today…after watching the country under the criminals of NATO…I am here to tell them that we still have power, we still strong with God’s help, and we trust our selfs tha

t our duty is to bring safety to our country after all these killings, stealing that brought in our country the rats of NATO.But today, after all these false news that are spreading via BBC, Al Arabyia, i have to tell you that all these is just to take the world’s eye off what is really happening, and what are doing the NATO fighter to our families in Bani Walid. Its obvious from photos and videos that people of Bani Walid, women, kids, men have been killed by aircraft attacks in their homes and by all these criminals from misrata that are carrying guns. and this is all happening cause they are threatening the people of Jamahyryia to not stand by people of Bani Walid and they “thought” to talk about Moussa Ibrahim and Khamis Al Qaddafi. We are outside Libya, we have nothing to do with Bani Walid, we are not even to a place near Bani Walid. they are hiting Bani Walid, they know that Bani Walid is a big tribe, Bani walid has geographical very important place and it’s tribe has a strong meaning for the country, so they are afraid for what is going to happen between the tribes of libya. After all that what is happening now to Bani Walid has nothing to do with the regime this is clash between tribes, and after what happened to our leader Qaddafi and Seif Al islam , the channels of bbc, al arabyia, al Djajeera are spreading false news about Khamis Al Qaddafi and Moussa Ibrahim and other people, and this is the proof about these lies. But our families that still in Bani Walid and with God’s help we will be back to them …But shame on you. Shame on you Libyans this is not about Moammar Al Qaddafi or not, shame on you a hall tribe , a hall libyan city to be attacked and cut in pieces , and killin its children, women and men and you are just watching. You have to think that this is not about policy, you have to think this is about the dignity of Libyans.these people which attacks this city have no dignity, no bellieves, they have no brothers, they have no feeling of their nationality. They lied about us , they told that we killed, they are the ones who killed people, they told we killed childre, infact they killed children , they told we were stealing they are the ones who still stealing, and they brought the country under a demon western leadreship.Moammar Qaddafi was the man who cares about Libya, he was for the best of Libya , yes there were problems but these problems were resolving by conversation but all these traitors sold everything. Please Libyans, has nonthing to do with all this mass, stand by the city, help the city , cause history will remain, history will write that bani walid cut in pieces, its people massacred and the western tribes were just watching. I have to tell many thanks the thousands of people who contacton FB , via Paltalk, twitter and by telephone. But my life does not worth more than other men from the regime who martyred and today on 20 October 2011, or the people who remains in jails. I still have Moammar al qaddafi as my leader,Libya still my country and NATO is my enemy. Thank you very much and i hope that we will meet soon on our land that have benn betrayed. Thank you and let the God guide you!

    Groeten, Ben

    • mr. drs. Bou:

Thank you and let the God guide you!

Moussa Ibrahim has not been captured – Lizzie Phelan

Lizzie Phelan: ‘The news that Dr Moussa Ibrahim has been arrested in Tarhouna, Libya is 100% false, and it will be proven so. It is not surprising that it comes on the one year anniversary since Muammar Qaddafi was murdered and other war crimes were committed against him, along with scores of others in his convoy to 1) distract from the fact that today we can see that the claims on that day that the country’s liberation was complete with this crime was the opposite of the truth 2) to boost the morale of the extreme sections of the anti Gaddafi opposition, particularly militias from Misrata who have been facing increasing resistance since their shelling and siege of Bani Walid from the Werfalla and allies.’

Government’s Laying Siege to Town Exposes West’s Indifference to Human Rights
    Posted on October 24, 2012

    Counterpunch, 23 October 2012

For some time to come, Libya shall stand as an enduring symbol of the West’s hypocrisy, and indeed duplicity, on the issue of human rights. While the West, and especially the United States, justified its aerial bombardment of Libya last year on the pretense of saving civilians from a possible, future (rather than actual) attack by Gaddafi forces, the West is silent about the real and ongoing attack of the new Libyan regime upon the town of Bani Walid. Indeed, one must strain hard to even learn of this attack in the press.

    Genocide in Bani Walid

    by Stephen Lendman

Washington bears full responsibility for waging multiple wars on humanity. It planned, initiated and controls direct and proxy conflicts across North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Bani Walid made headlines for three weeks. Genocide threatens its residents. Obama’s dirty hands are all over this crime of war and against humanity. Media scoundrels ignore it. More on this below.

America’s proxy war on Syria continues. Washington’s directly responsible for recruiting, arming, funding and directing Syrian death squads.

Al Qaeda “Virtue Police” Show up Along NATO Protected Turkish-Syrian Border
    By Tony Cartalucci
    Global Research, November 28, 2012

Clearly, the US military and the US government were both well aware of the heavy Al Qaeda presence in Cyrenaica since as early as 2007. When violence flared up in 2011, it was clear to many geopolitical analysts that it was the result of Al Qaeda, not “pro-democracy protesters.” The US government, its allies, and a complicit Western press, willfully lied to the public, misrepresented its case to the United Nations and intervened in Libya on behalf of international terrorists, overthrowing a sovereign government, and granting an entire nation as a base of operations for the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

A similar scenario is now playing out in Syria, where the West, despite acknowledging the existence of Al Qaeda in Benghazi, Libya, is using these militants, and the exact same networks used to send fighters to Iraq, to flood into and overrun Syria.
