Hillary Clinton reageerde opgetogen!

Clinton on Qaddafi: “We Came, We Saw, He Died”

October 21, 2011 “CBS” – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton shared a laugh with a television news reporter moments after hearing deposed Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi had been killed.

“We came, we saw, he died,” she joked when told of news reports of Qaddafi’s death by an aide in between formal interviews. Clinton was in Tripoli earlier this week for talks with leaders of Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC). The reporter asked if Qaddafi’s death had anything to do with her surprise visit to show support for the Libyan people. “No,” she replied, before rolling her eyes and saying “I’m sure it did” with a chuckle.

Putin: Who gave NATO right to kill Gaddafi?

chris stevens was a CIA spook

Stevens joined the United States Foreign Service in 1991. His previous overseas assignments included: Deputy Principal officer and Political Section Chief in Jerusalem; political officer in Damascus; consular/political officer in Cairo; and consular/economic officer in Riyadh. In Washington, Ambassador Stevens served as Director of the Office of Multilateral Nuclear and Security Affairs; Pearson Fellow with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; special assistant to the Under Secretary for Political Affairs; Iran desk officer; and staff assistant in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.

He served twice previously in Libya, as the Deputy Chief of Mission from 2007 to 2009 and as Special Representative to the National Transitional Council from March 2011 to November 2011 during the Libyan revolution. He arrived in Tripoli in May 2012 as the U.S. Ambassador to Libya

funny, almost everywhere this guy has served, we have “nation built” in the last couple of years. my bet is the “embassy raid” was a deliberate hit to take out the CIA contingent there because they fucked kadafi with the “weaponry update” plan begun by bush that got ol’ mo to detail exact numbers and locations of just about every weapon in his inventory. his dates of previous service coincide with both “ends” of the fucking kadafi got at our governments hands.

fuck all the flag waving “we must avenge this act of hostility” horse-shit, this guy was just another fucking spook dicking over a foreign country. the same should happen to ALL of them

Escobar: US could drone Libya to death

Gepubliceerd op 14 sep 2012 door RussiaToday

Washington’s hopes of dealing with the situation caused by a controversial film that’s sparked outrage in Muslim world are paralyzed by the looming presidential election, Pepe Escobar, Asia Times correspondent, told RT.

Escobar says that for now, the Obama administration – who is partly responsible for the demonstrations in the Arab World – will resort to using drones to find the extremists responsible for the deaths of four Foreign Service employees, including the American ambassador to Libya.

The notorious film is threatening not just U.S. diplomatic missions in the Arab World – but American interests in the region in general.

Washington has spent a great deal of time and billions of dollars to befriend some Muslim countries – but all those efforts are now proving to have been in vain.

    ‘Obama benefits from ongoing rage’

As new anger towards the United States spreads across the Muslim world, President Obama’s election campaign could greatly benefit from the turmoil, author and journalist Afshin Rattansi told RT.

RT: A number of people have been killed in violent clashes within the past couple of days, with no sign of the anger letting up – what do you think, ultimately, these activists are trying to achieve?

AR: Is it really activists? I think it is a general fury of the people, so far the 20 countries, against the US policies of so long. So this is not the case of activists as such; this is a broad array of people that detest US imperialism and we can expect more and more to follow. And more catalysts, whether it will be a crazy film or another one of President Obama’s or, who knows, perhaps President Romney’s crazy foreign policy ideas. Because he will not be the only diplomat, presumably, to be targeted, and it is not a good time for US diplomats around the world.

Revealed: Inside Story of US Envoy’s Assassination

Exclusive: America ‘was warned of embassy attack but did nothing’

    By Kim Sengupta

Senior officials are increasingly convinced, however, that the ferocious nature of the Benghazi attack, in which rocket-propelled grenades were used, indicated it was not the result of spontaneous anger due to the video, called Innocence of Muslims. Patrick Kennedy, Under-Secretary at the State Department, said he was convinced the assault was planned due to its extensive nature and the proliferation of weapons.

There is growing belief that the attack was in revenge for the killing in a drone strike in Pakistan of Mohammed Hassan Qaed, an al-Qa’ida operative who was, as his nom-de-guerre Abu Yahya al-Libi suggests, from Libya, and timed for the anniversary of the 11 September attacks.

    Mr Blowback Rising in Benghazi

    By Pepe Escobar

    “Daddy, what is blowback?”

Abu Yahya al-Libi was, of course, Libyan. He slaved three years in the bowels of Bagram prison near Kabul, but somehow managed to escape that supposedly impregnable fortress in July 2005.

At the time, the Forces of Good were merrily in bed with Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in Libya – whose intelligence services, to the delight of the Bush administration, were doing their nastiest to exterminate or at least isolate al-Qaeda-style Salafi-jihadis of the al-Libi kind.

But, then, in 2011, the Forces of Good, under new administration, decided it was time to bury the oh so passe “war on terra” and dance to a new, more popular groove; humanitarian intervention, also characterized as “kinetic military action”.

So al-Libi was back from the dead – now fighting side by side with the Forces of Good to topple (and eventually snuff out) “evil” Col Gaddafi. Al-Libi had become a “freedom fighter” – even though he was openly calling for Libya to become an Islamic Emirate.

    Terra, terra, terra
What happened in Benghazi may have been just an out-of-control protest against a crude, amateur, made-in-California movie produced and directed by an Israeli-American real estate developer and certified Islamophobe (an identity now being reported as a guise), financed with US$5 million from unidentified Jewish donors, depicting Islam “as a cancer” and Prophet Muhammad as a womanizer, a pedophile and most of all, a fraud. The movie was duly promoted by wacko Florida pastor and Koran-burning freak Terry Jones.

Yet the killing of the US ambassador in Libya is just an hors d’oeuvre to what may happen in Syria – where scores of “freedom fighters” supported by the CIA, the Turks and the House of Saud are al-Qaeda-linked, either via the supposedly reformist Libya Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) or acronym-infested subcontracting gangs such as Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) or al-Qaeda in the Maghreb (AQIM).

So how will Washington “bring the perpetrators to justice” in Libya? After all this is the same gang that was hailed as “heroes” when they sodomized, lynched and snuffed out “evil” Gaddafi.

Libya: The Questions We Should Be Asking

    By Barry Lando

    September 15, 2012 “Information Clearing House” – –

Apart from Mitt Romney’s ridiculous slur against President Obama after the slaying of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Americans should focus on the state of affairs suggested by the following questions: When was the last time a Chinese diplomat was killed or even roughed up by an angry mob? When did you last hear about a Chinese embassy being burned down or pillaged?

From Morocco and Tunisia to Libya, Egypt, Yemen and Iraq, anti-American crowds have taken to the streets. The outpouring of hatred is symptomatic of the fact that across much of North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, American policy is in tatters—probably more than ever before. The region is strewn with the wreckage of failed U.S. ambitions and disastrous American plans.

The Powerplays Behind “The Innocence of Muslims”

    By Thierry Meyssan

    September 25, 2012 “Information Clearing House” –

The international reactions to the film by “Sam Bacile” are more and more incomprehensible if taken at face value, ignoring who is behind it and what their objectives are.

This provocation designed to instigate a clash of civilizations is very different from previous ones. It’s goal is not to stigmatize Islam vis-à-vis Western populations to elicit hatred toward the Muslims but is rather directed at Muslims to insult them and thereby incite hatred toward Westerners. This is not “Islamophobia”; it is “Islam-bashing” and its objective is to arouse anger among Muslims and direct that anger toward specific targets: those who in the U.S. or among their allies wish to interrupt the cycles of wars begun on September 11, 2001.

No one knows if the film, “The Innocence of Muslims,” really exists in full-length form. So far, only a thirteen-minute clip has emerged, the most offensive parts of which were dubbed over the soundtrack at a later date. First placed on YouTube, the video had no impact until it was diffused in Arabic by the Salafist television station, Al-Nas. Salafist groups then reacted violently but instead of attacking the station or its Saudi sponsors, they turned their ire on American diplomatic representatives.

Libyan militias melt into desert, wait for another day

It might seem like Libya’s Islamist militias are reeling in the face of the popular backlash that followed the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on September 11. But Libya analysts say these groups are well-entrenched and used to operating in hostile environments. They may have melted away for now – but maybe not for long.

Before the consulate attack, there was already growing resentment against these groups in Benghazi and places like Derna further east, as reported previously by CNN.

But their autonomy was protected by the weakness of Libya’s new government, generally poor security and the absence of effective security forces and a functioning judiciary.

The backlash against them has included the sacking of the Benghazi office of Ansar al-Shariah on Friday by a large crowd, and attacks by crowds on the compounds of other militia in the city.

Libya: Gaddafi ‘captor’ Omran Shaaban buried in Misrata

One of the Libyan rebels credited with capturing ex-leader Muammar Gaddafi last year has been buried in his hometown of Misrata.

Omran Ben Shaaban was kidnapped, shot and tortured by people who many in Misrata believe were supporters of the late dictator.

The 22-year-old died in France, where he was receiving medical treatment for his injuries.

His body was flown back to Libya, met by hundreds of mourners.

In Misrata, protesters called for the government to avenge his death.

Mr Shaaban was kidnapped by armed men in July and held for 50 days in the town of Bani Walid, a former Gaddafi stronghold that lies south-east of the capital Tripoli.

He was freed last week following the mediation efforts of Mohamed Magarief, Libya’s interim leader and president of the ruling General National Congress (GNC).

Libya: How Many Dirty Western Hands?

    By Felicity Arbuthnot
    Global Research, October 01, 2012

This weekend a detailed article (i) suggested that a: “French secret serviceman, acting on the express orders of the then President Sarkozy, is suspected of ”the murder of Colonel Quaddafi”, on 20th October last year.

Whilst bearing in mind that the NATO-backed insurgents now in power, who have near destroyed much of Libya, de-stabilised, terrorized and hope to carve up Libya’s resources for their, rather than the country’s benefit, have every reason to wish to disassociate themselves from the butchery of Colonel Quaddafi’s terrible death, the new allegations illuminate interesting points.

The French assassin, it is claimed, infiltrated the mob rabidly manhandling the Colonel, and shot him in the head.

“The motive, according to well placed (Libyan) sources”, was to prevent any chance of interrogation into Sarkozy’s links with Colonel Quaddafi.

Armed Libyan forces continue to surround the city of Bani Walid, Libya. As tension between government troops and opposition supporters continues to mount, residents have been left without food and other supplies — and are calling on the UN for help.

The siege of Bani Walid started because the National Congress wants to arrest the suspected murderers of the man credited with capturing Colonel Gaddafi.

The town failed to hand them over, but the siege is too strong a response exposing the government’s weakness, says journalist James Corbett.

Why Did CIA Director Petraeus Suddenly Resign … And Why Was the U.S. Ambassador to Libya Murdered?

The Deeper Questions Behind the Ambassador’s Murder … and the CIA Boss’ Sudden Resignation

CIA boss David Petraeus suddenly resigned, admitting to an affair. This could be the real explanation, given that affairs of high-level intelligence chiefs could compromise national security.

But the timing of Petraeus’ resignation becomes more interesting once one learns that that he was scheduled to testify under oath next week before power House and Senate committees regarding the Benghazi consulate.

Many speculate that it wasn’t an affair – but the desire to avoid testifying on Benghazi – which was the real reason for Petraeus’ sudden resignation.
