Libya: NATO Massbombardments destroys children’s facilities, kills & endangers the Population

RT, 7 juli 2011: Rebel fighters in Libya have blamed a lack of ammunition, and a lack of NATO support, for their failure to advance towards the capital Tripoli. It comes just days after Libya reportedly intercepted two vessels with Belgian weapons intended for the rebels. For more about what’s going on there, RT crosses live to Tripoli and Dr. Franklin Lamb, a Director of Americans Concerned for Middle East Peace.

‘Killing civilians part of NATO war strategy in Libya’

RT, 9 augustus 2011: The head of Libya’s rebel movement has sacked the entire executive committee which functions as a cabinet. It follows the assasination of the commander of opposition forces last month. Members of the National Transitional Council, Libya’s highest rebel authority, support the re-shuffle saying they hope it will stem any crisis in their ranks. Meanwhile, NATO is continues its attacks on the country. Officials in Tripoli claim 85 people have been killed in airstrikes in the west of the country. Stephen Lendman, author and blogger says it’s obvious there’s no agreement in the rebel government, and NATO is losing the war in the country.

Dr. Webster Tarpley praat met Press TV (Iran): ‘NATO starving civilians in Libya

This is what NATO and its sanctions against Libya are doing “Starving the Libyan people” and claiming to be starving Gaddafi, this must stop no solution will you reach by putting fear and spreading hunger, the sanctions against Libya must be lifted this is in insane if you wanna catch a person you never isolate them to a point they can’t breath because that will just make them resist more.

Begin juli was dr. Webster Tarpley in Tripoli.
Webster Tarpley in Libya ~ Indepth Analysis World Crisis Radio telt 8 delen en duurt ongeveer 37 minuten.

Fierce fighting for Libyan opposition in Zlitan’s ‘static frontline’

6 augustus: Zlitan’s frontline remains static despite fierce fighting.
Opposition forces are claiming victory on several fronts in the battle for Libya. In contrast, Zlitan, a town located just east of Tripoli, has become a static frontline. Ammunition supply lines have slowed down and there is no end in sight to the fighting. Al Jazeera’s Andrew Simmons has more in this exclusive report from Zlitan.

Rebel fighting becomes deadly routine outside Zlitan

7 augustus: For more than a week, Libyan opposition fighters have remained stuck on a nearly static front line east of Zlitan, a major town on the road from Misurata to Tripoli. Rebels and troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi trade rocket and gun fire every day, and casualties are mounting.
Residents of Zlitan are reportedly ambivalent about rebel troops overrunning their town, worrying that the presence of opposition forces would bring them under fire from the regime’s army.
In the meantime, the deadly stalemate on the road to Zlitan continues.
Al Jazeera’s Andrew Simmons reports from outside Zlitan.

Libyan rebels battle for western town on road to coast

7 augustus: Opposition fighters in Libya’s west battled for control of a small town that sits astride a road to both Tripoli and the coast over the weekend. Despite back-and-forth fighting that saw regime troops bombard newly gained rebel positions with Grad rockets, rebels reportedly held the town by Monday morning.
From Bir al-Ghanam, rebels can push north to the coastal town of Serman, cutting off a supply route between the Tunisian border and the capital, or they can go straight to Tripoli, around 80km away.
Troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi are likely to put up a stiffer fight as rebels get closer to the capital, but the opposition says residents of Serman are waiting for their arrival and ready to rise up. Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from near Bir al-Ghanam.
